This was our first time ever doing a bed and breakfast and I couldn’t have been more impressed. This review is long overdue. We got in super late and they were still able to accommodate us and make us feel welcomed. Our room was wonderful and private with a little balcony type thing right off the room. The breakfast was amazing each morning and the hosts were so nice. We met a few other couples and had such a wonderful weekend. Walking distance to everything !!

The nicest people you will ever meet! That includes Maureen, the housekeeper, Dave and Phil, the owners/breakfast chefs. They will do everything they can to be sure you have a home away from home and guide you on any side trips or destinations while you are here. Breakfast is a “family” event with Dave or Phil relating histories of the house, the Civil War, Yorktown, the Monitor or just telling stories. All the guests we met there in our 3 days were just as nice and eager to help or join in conversations. I’d be more than happy to return a couple of times a year. I can’t imagine having a more pleasant stay anywhere else. Oh, most of the food they serve is organic; it’s just one more plus.

“We chose to stay at the Horsnby House, which turned out to be the perfect base of operations for such a trip. It was quiet and beautiful, with a great view of the Chesapeake from the center of Yorktown. But it was also right off the Colonial Parkway and thus a short, easy and pretty drive to Williamsburg and Jamestown. David and Phil were outstanding and pleasant hosts, and make a fine breakfast. Their family house is full of interesting details and charm. This is the place to stay anywhere near this area. “

“This is a DO NOT MISS PLACE– We really liked it. Two brothers, David and Phil, are the owners and opened their homeplace to visitors only a year and a half ago. We met the innkeepers the next morning at breakfast. David sat down with 10 of us at breakfast and told us about the history of the place. This is why we like B and B’s. The home is Beautiful and has tons of family history. You will like it!”
